As the world was starting to emerge and with COVID numbers going down, I was excited to have a lot of weddings over the course of 2021, which gave me an opportunity to see how my couples were creating fun and fabulous weddings while still being aware of the lingering effects of COVID!!
In this post, I’d like to share about the venues I worked at last year!
New to me venues this year included:
Comus Farm is located in Dickerson, MD, and it offers a rustic, fun, and relaxing space for your wedding or other events! Beautiful outside ceremony space by a pond and a newly-built barn for your reception! They also offer overnight accommodations so you, family, and wedding party could stay right there! Camp Hidden Valley at Deer Creek Preserve, located in Harford County, MD, is a premier camp event destination! A beautifully-appointed lodge can serve as your ceremony space, and then be flipped for your reception space while guests enjoy cocktail hour outside under the pavilion. This venue has numerous cabins on the property for you and your guests, giving the whole wedding experience a fabulous feel! (Image in Lodge at the Camp by yours truly!)
Good Feelings Farm is a beautiful, newer venue in Westminster, MD. This charming 200-year-old farm has plenty of beautiful space to accommodate up to 200 guests. Ceremony space under the branches of beautiful oak, maple, and chestnut trees, cocktail hour at the Paddock (the bottom of the stall barn), and tented reception space. Stellar getting-ready space for the wedding party, too! And, a lovely spring stream that runs through the pastures! (Image of first dance in the beautiful tent by Kayce Shoffner Photography)
Knollview House is one of the options at Celebrations at the Bay in Pasadena, MD. This intimate wedding venue is perfect for a smaller wedding. The beautiful ceremony space looks out over the water, with a long dock for you and photographer to capture some amazing sunset pictures!! If rain is part of the day, the side porch off of the house offers great covered space and still maintains a few of the water. (Image of sunset at Knollview House by Eric Stocklin Photography)
The Heron Room is a beautiful industrial space and located in Baltimore, MD, on the Jones Falls Expressway in the heart of Mill No. 1, one of Baltimore’s most historic collection of buildings. While the room can hold up to 120 guests, if you are having a larger event, you can partner with Cosima Restaurant for up to 200 guests! (Image of ceremony at The Heron Room by Two of Us Photography)
The Barn at Rosemont Springs is on the same property as Rosemont Manor, and is located in Berryville, VA, a historic landmark constructed in 1811. Because the property has two venues to choose from – the Barn and the historic Rosemont Manor — they can accommodate everything from intimate weddings to weddings of 500 guests. My couple used the Barn as their reception space, after enjoying an outside ceremony right next door. Overnight lodging is also available, with expansive views of natural surroundings for all four seasons! (Image from ceremony at The Barn by Kelly Loss Photography)
Dulany’s Overlook is located just outside of Frederick, MD, and is where my daughter and her now-husband chose to get married! And, it’s one of the few venues in the area at which I had not coordinated a wedding (!), so I was able to view it as the mother of the bride. For your ceremony, this 170-acre farm has both a wooded and a field option. Enjoy cocktails in the lower level of the huge bank barn. The barn itself is perfect for your reception of up to 200 guests. The gorgeous house on the property offers a stunning bridal suite upstairs and a fun groom’s suite in the totally finished basement level. If you time it right, you can have your processional flow through the in-bloom, beautiful rose garden (like we did for my daughter’s wedding) for some amazing pictures. And, I always love going back to:
The Cloisters Castle is in Lutherville, MD. Settled high on a hill among 60 acres of secluded woods, this venue reflects the beauty and grandeur of medieval Europe, and is the perfect setting for unique weddings. One of my weddings there last year was a “Dungeons & Dragons” theme, which was fabulous, but this venue is unique enough that you don’t really need a theme! (Cover image by Wendy Hickok Photography)
The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek is in Boyds, MD, and offers a woodsy feel for your wedding! The huge fireplace in the lodge is an awesome focal point for your inside ceremony, and they also have a lovely open field for outside ceremonies. If you (or someone you know) is searching for a venue, be sure to visit the websites of these venues for more information! As always, I’m here to help you find the perfect spot for your fabulous wedding or event!
Until next time,
