Happy almost May friends!
This month has been a whirlwind of Easter celebrations, weddings, and more! I can’t believe we’re heading into May already. Halfway through the year, almost! The time is flying by.
I wanted to go over some quick tips and tricks for your wedding day beauty routine. While you can certainly start working on your beauty regime prior to your wedding, there are definitely a few things that would be helpful to remember going into your wedding.
Whether you are a groom or a bride, prioritizing your skin will make photos that much more beautiful. Make sure you’re hydrating properly prior to the big day as water can make an incredible impact on the skin as a whole!
Additionally, I always instruct my couples to book a trial makeup session with their makeup stylist (as well as hair) to ensure the look you are going for is achieved prior to your actual day. While you may know you want a certain look, sometimes my couples are surprised at just how different they look – or that they don’t look different enough – and you need to re-adjust your preferences for the day of.
Keep some supplies handy. Typically wedding days are LONG days, so you’ll be sweating, walking, posing, and embracing a lot of people. Sometimes you’ll need a quick pick-me-up, so you’ll want to keep your supplies nearby – like concealer, lipstick, and oil cloths to wipe up excess oils. Another great idea is to wear a liquid lipstick you are already comfortable with. This takes away the stress of trying to find a lipstick that won’t smudge and also ensures your pucker after the I do won’t end up on your other half.
An additional consideration is to invest in waterproof supplies. Weddings are emotional! It’s absolutely ok if you cry or tear up. It happens! That said, you don’t want to look like a raccoon, so it’s best to just use waterproof on that day in order to ensure your tears don’t leave streaks! Keep that in mind for the rehearsal, too, as you never know when those emotions will appear!
While these are just a few quick beauty tips for the wedding day itself, many brides and grooms begin a wedding skin routine months prior to the big day. As long as you feel your best – whatever you prefer will be just right!
