If you are recently engaged, I’m sure by now you know that the big wide world of weddings can be somewhat overwhelming. With all of the advice, tips, tricks, and trends – it’s hard to know which way to turn, and what to choose for your big day. Today on the blog, we want to focus on some must haves for your big day that are sometimes easily forgotten – and how not to forget them when the time comes!
First things first, don’t forget to enjoy it! Breathe, enjoy a hot beverage, and remember that this day passes quickly. This time in your life is something to ENJOY, not fear, not dread. If you find yourself getting stressed out, remember that you are preparing to marry your best friend in front of your most treasured loved ones in your life. Keep this vision in your mind as you book your providers, experience stressful situations, and have a less than pleasant talk about wedding colors. It’s important to remember that the time passes anyway, so be in the moment and enjoy the little things like worrying over what flavor cake you like best. I have a pin on my Pinterest board titled “Must Haves” that discusses mindfulness and this is so important to overall enjoying the process. If you find you are NOT enjoying the process or need help – that’s when you call me! I will take care of the stress so that you can worry about how much fun you’re having.
Also pinned to this board are a couple of ideas for your wedding timeline. Check them out here. Having a timeline on your wedding day is crucial to an overall successful event. By being organized and timely, you can be sure to walk down the aisle on time, leaving room for group and guest photos, cocktail hour, and any minor issues that spring up day of. You can also know a more thorough outline of your day – from vows to final goodbyes. I can’t stress this enough! This is a vital part to ensuring your day goes as flawless as can be. If timelines aren’t your thing- as part of my packages, I can provide a copy to all of the wedding party!
Last but certainly not least, pinned to that board is a list that includes supplies to make your own ‘wedding day survival kit”. This list includes things like safety pins (for last minute emergency alterations), extra bobby-pins to ensure your hair stays in place (after all of that dancing!), and extra corsage pins(because we’ve lost them too many times to not bring extra). These items are so important to your big day, I have my own emergency kit I bring with me to each wedding. You’d be surprised how many times it has saved the day! Check out my Instagram post (video) from September 14 showing some of what I carry in my emergency kit!
Overall, there of course is a ton to think about your wedding day, and we understand it can get a little overwhelming! By finding out what items are absolutely essential (and researching and building a Pinterest board with all things wedding essentials), you will come out being more prepared for the pop-ups and much more inclined to stay present and remember your day.
