And we’re in July! As always, the summer -though hot- is rolling by quickly and we are heading back into the approaching fall wedding season. While planning a wedding definitely doesn’t have a season, summer is a great time to check off some of those checklist items that are harder to determine when wedding season is in full swing. Let’s talk your favors.
Some couples are not in favor of favors any longer (see what I did there?!). That said, favors can be a very simple and straightforward way to thank your guests for being a part of your big day while providing them with a little something to remember your day by. There are millions of options to choose from, but today I’d like to talk about some unique wedding favors your guests will actually use after leaving your reception.
Many couples now are choosing to utilize edible options in order to cut down on something sitting on a shelf at your guest’s home. Some fun options to choose from would be perhaps a drink kit (think mimosa in a kit…champagne, orange juice, fluted glass, flavored sugar for the rim) or even something fun that matches the wedding theme like a s’more’s kit-to-go. That said, you don’t always have to go with edible options if you’d prefer to gift a keepsake, as there are plenty of other options that will match what you’re looking for.
I am sure we have all seen our fair share of wedding favors that don’t exactly excite. From shot glasses to engraved wine glasses, a lot of this type of glassware can end up hiding behind a china cabinet door or, even worse, being donated to the thrift store. I want you to invest in something your guests will love and admire!
Your guests certainly want to remember your day spent together, however there’s only so many glasses with couple’s names or matchbooks one needs. Another option for successful favors would be something like a luggage tag personalized with a cute saying to match your wedding theme. If you are both avid readers, and you incorporate books into your big day, consider gifting personalized bookmarks to share with your guests. This way, they have something functional they can use in the future that will not be hidden in a cabinet, but rather cherished with their favorite book.
Another great option that will last forever or awhile (hopefully!) and look amazing while doing it are plants! A living, green, option is a great one for guests that will add happiness and style to their homes. This could go along with many themes such as boho, fairy tale, classic and more. The sky is truly the limit when it comes to this!
I hope this leads you to some great options for your favors and helps you decide on something that fits not only your budget but also your personalities and guest’s expectations without compromising on quality.
If you need further assistance choosing what favors to offer for your big day – I’m here for you! I’d love to help make your wedding the most special day!
