In an ever-changing world these days, there are lots of changes to events as well. We all learned very quickly with the pandemic that planning was kind of a taboo subject these last few years. Today, we are talking all about event changes and how best to relay these to your guests. In the year of 2022 – it is essential to have a wedding website to give your guests the most up-to-date information. Let’s discuss!
As I mentioned, information and data sharing is key these days. The first and most obvious reason to have a wedding website is to be able to have a place to store all of that information. From gift registries to local accommodations, the best way to host all of this is to have neat little areas on your wedding website. This can absolutely streamline your planning process and prevent your dear aunt and long-lost cousin from calling you three days before the wedding asking about that toaster you mentioned at Christmas last year. Essentially, having a streamlined, real-time, up-to-date event hub is a godsend and this can save so much time for both your guests as well as you!
Speaking of toasters, the gift registry can live on your wedding website and when something is purchased off of the list, it will be marked as such. This prevents you from having to return three toasters and instead guarantees that the things you’re asking for on your registry will be more likely bought rather than something that you already have or actually don’t want. This is especially helpful if you’ve registered in different stores as your guests can quickly access all of your registries with the simple click of a button!
Your RSVPs are a big part of knowing your numbers when planning your event. The wedding website can make RSVPing super simple and streamlined. Instead of having to wait for RSVP cards in the mail, you can simply receive them online! This helps to keep them organized and all in one place, and reduces the risk of excluding or counting doubles by accident. Not to mention – stamps can be super expensive!
A sweet and less practical – but still completely awesome – use of your wedding website can be to highlight some of your love story to share with your guests. You can share what you want – how you met, what your future goals are, explain the proposal, and even spotlight some of your wedding party! This can be a fun and free way to share your crew (and your love) with your guests and can help you share the engagement photos you can’t stop talking about.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, times are tough and things are always ch-ch-ch-ch-changin’! With the pandemic still continuing to affect weddings, conferences, expos and the like, it’s important to be able to quickly relay any changes to your guests so they know that cocktail hour has been moved back a half hour or that it’s going to rain, so bring an umbrella! It’s also a great place to let them know to bring a mask, what precautions you’re taking to keep them safe, and even take dinner choices – all online at the click of a button.
There are multiple ways to use a wedding website and this is just the beginning! You can even connect with your guests AFTER the wedding by offering a little post-event highlight section where you can share pictures of the day, and even get some of your guest’s photos you otherwise would not have had access to!
From event changes to registries, there really is nothing like a wedding website. If you need some tips and tricks on how best to showcase YOUR website – let me know! I am always here to help and would love to talk details!
