Here are a few more tips to help make your wedding day a fabulous day!
Hold the bouquet low! Yes, the bouquet is stunning, but so are you! If you hold the bouquet too high, it will cover the neckline of your dress and perhaps part of your gorgeous face. For a traditional bouquet, plan to hold it about where your navel is. That also allows your arms to be bent a bit, creating a beautiful frame.
Give yourself enough time to get ready! You want to be able to relax and enjoy that getting ready time with plenty of time for giggles with your friends, fun pictures, and snacks! That, in turn, makes for a relaxing day for you as you begin the next chapter in your life.
Be sure your honor attendant (or someone like Mom) knows how to bustle your dress! Take someone with you to your last fitting and record the shop staff person as they show how to bustle the dress. In all the excitement of the day, you don’t want the flow of the day to slow down because no one but you knows how to bustle the dress. Try to have as few hooks/buttons for bustling as possible, so it goes quickly. I had a wedding recently, where it was one loop to go over one button, and was all done in seconds! I’ve also had some where there were five or seven hooks/buttons and it can take forever to find those!!
Walk slowly down the aisle. Take in each moment and each smile from your guests as they watch you walk down the aisle. Your partner is there waiting for you – they aren’t going anywhere! Plus, they can thoroughly engrain in their memory how stunning you look as you approach them! When we got married (eons ago!), the only thing that I still don’t remember was walking down the aisle!
