2022 was a fabulous year for weddings! Having an increase of 25% over the number of weddings in 2021, these 2022 weddings allowed me to see how my couples were creating fun and fabulous weddings! In this post, I’d like to share just a little about the venues I worked at in 2022
New to me venues this year included:
Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD. I have worked at a couple of Martin’s locations, but not this one! It was lovely with a beautiful grand entrance, and multiple ballrooms to fit your needs.
Caboose Farm in Sabillasville, MD, nestled in 200 acres, this venue has multiple locations for an outside ceremony – the Glade (by a stream), the Meadow (at the base of a hill), the Infinity Field (which views the sky), the Flattop Field (with a few of the venue property, and the Hilltop Vista (also with a view of the property). The reception can be held in either the 2-story Event Barn or you can bring in a tent.
The Mansion at Strathmore in Rockville, MD, is wonderful for your more intimate wedding. The outdoor grounds can be used for your ceremony; or if you want a more cozy feel, inside the Georgian mansion, there is a room with stunning polished oak. The property has centuries-old trees and beautiful flowering shrubs, and inside, you’ll see the Palladian windows allow for natural light along with glittering chandeliers, gleaming brass fixtures, and a sweeping staircase!
Rock Creek Mansion in Bethesda, MD, is a wonderful option for feeling like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the area, but is so easy to get to! There is a grassy area that is perfect for your ceremony or for wedding party pictures if your ceremony is elsewhere. The reception space in the mansion has neutral colors, so you can truly make it your own!
Lee Fendall House Museum and Garden in Alexandria, VA, shares American history through the experiences of the people who lived and worked on the property from 1785 to 1969. A great location for a smaller guest list, your guest can enjoy learning more about the museum and the area, before heading outside for a beautiful ceremony and reception in their gardens.
Whistling Wren Farm in Keedysville, MD, is a new venue, in its second year of hosting weddings. The historic barn has been refurbished by the owners making it a gorgeous venue for weddings with less than 100 guests. Outside, there is a huge stone fireplace that is a perfect backdrop for your ceremony.
Aix La Chapelle Farm in Poolesville, MD, offers elegance and sophistication with countryside charm. Located in an Architectural Reserve, this venue is framed by a natural setting (160 acres), and the grounds are beautiful! The owners also have so many items of décor and furnishings so you choose items to match your theme and vibe! Multiple buildings on the property give you lots of options on how to use the space, and you can bring in a tent if your guest list is on the larger side!
The Assembly Room in Baltimore, MD, is a fabulous urban setting in downtown Baltimore. With 24,000 sq feet of flexible industrial space, this 2-story venue is able to accommodate all of your needs with multiple areas to use for intimate downtown Baltimore weddings. The space is a blank slate for you to put your stamp on for your wedding!
And, I always love going back to…
The BMI in Baltimore, MD, is right on the waterfront and is amazing! The “Point” is where outside ceremonies can be held with the Baltimore skyline as your backdrop. Inside the museum, guests are encouraged to look around and learn more about the history of the Baltimore industrial era. A large open space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water, the BMI can host any size event.
Montagu Meadows in Westminster, MD, accommodates weddings, celebrations, and events with elegance and ease. Their backdrop of the rolling fields creates a beautiful private setting for your wedding. This venue hosts a guest list of 100 or less and offers multiple locations for your ceremony – the Orchard, a Pond, a Stream, or a Terrace. The reception is held in the Barn, which has wood and stone walls and an open floor plan and features romantic lighting and a 2,000 sq ft patio space with overhead terrace lighting – perfect for dancing the night away!
The AVAM in Baltimore, MD, is quite a fun and quirky event space! With multiple ceremony and reception options, intimate weddings through guest lists of over 200 can enjoy this unique space.
The Other Barn in Columbia, MD, is a renovated, spacious reception site filled with rustic charm. Originally a dairy barn, it now provides a unique, elegant but warm atmosphere that is the perfect place to celebrate life’s special events. There is a garden area for your ceremony. If you choose to have your ceremony elsewhere, the second-story reception space is large enough for your bigger guest list.
Good Feelings Farm in Westminster, MD, is a charming 200-year-old farm with plenty of beautiful space to accommodate up to 200 guests. Imagine this – your ceremony under the branches of beautiful oak, maple, and chestnut trees, your cocktail hour at the Paddock (the bottom of the stall barn), and your reception in a tent with a bar made out of an old wagon.
If you (or someone you know) are searching for a venue, be sure to visit the websites of these venues for more information! As always, I’m here to help you find the perfect spot for your fabulous wedding or event!
Until next time,
Lexi
