Pinterest Finds: Bridesmaids Dresses and Gifts!
Let’s talk bridesmaids. The long-standing joke of those hideous, tulle infused dresses have come a long way in the past few decades from dresses of years gone by. Historically speaking, many bridesmaids’ dresses of years past included yards of tulle, ribbons, and sometimes even hats! The idea that the bridesmaids’ dresses should look any different than the bride, but similar to the other bridesmaids, didn’t really catch on until the latter part of the 19th century – as brides became more and more captured by news, photos, and pictures on their wedding days as technology emerged. Brides – as we all know now – wanted to stand out on their day. All of this being said, bridesmaids’ dresses of today are (thankfully) much more on trend, and a lot less….fluffy.
