Have we got a special treat for you, dear readers! I wanted to do a series on the event venues I have been to, planned events at, or maybe just dream of working with one day. As I’ve been to quite a few in my years of planning, this was a tricky decision as to who to pick first! Ultimately, the first venue I’ve chosen to feature is Linganore Winecellars for their sophisticated indoor and scenic outdoor settings that my brides have utilized to their full potential! This secluded, rustic setting was planted and began in 1972, amongst dairy cows and corn fields on an old farm in Mount Airy, Maryland. This beautiful and lush estate spans a huge 230 acres, complete with 70 acres of vineyards. Picture rolling hills, serene ponds, and various indoor and outdoor event facilities to choose from. To Do or Not To Do? Prioritizing your special day!

Congratulations! You are now engaged and ready to start calling vendors and booking contracts! But where do you start? Wedding planning can be extremely overwhelming. If you’re focused on staying within budget, prioritizing is a must. Ensuring you know your overall budget and then making those beautiful wedding elements fit into it can be tricky, but by starting with the basics, you can find out what’s important to both you and your fiancé as well as where you can save and stay within your budget. The best way to determine your priorities is to start by each of you individually making a list. Think about what you absolutely loved about your sister’s wedding….and what you absolutely hated about your brother’s. Essentially, think about the other weddings you both have been to and what you’d like to incorporate into your own. Then start writing down what is important to you. Pinterest Finds: Bridesmaids Dresses and Gifts!

Let’s talk bridesmaids. The long-standing joke of those hideous, tulle infused dresses have come a long way in the past few decades from dresses of years gone by. Historically speaking, many bridesmaids’ dresses of years past included yards of tulle, ribbons, and sometimes even hats! The idea that the bridesmaids’ dresses should look any different than the bride, but similar to the other bridesmaids, didn’t really catch on until the latter part of the 19th century – as brides became more and more captured by news, photos, and pictures on their wedding days as technology emerged. Brides – as we all know now – wanted to stand out on their day. All of this being said, bridesmaids’ dresses of today are (thankfully) much more on trend, and a lot less….fluffy. Deep blues, elegant maroons, and understated beige colors come to mind when thinking of bridesmaids in recent weddings I’ve planned. There are hundreds of colors
