After you have whittled the guest list down to the final number, there are other ways in which to save some money on the wedding! See below for some tips on how to do that and still have a beautiful wedding! This is a new one I’ve seen – skip the bread basket! These days, folks are concerned about their carb intake, so do they really want (or need) a big roll with the salad or dinner? By skipping bread, your guests can enjoy the deliciousness of the main meal, savor every morsel and not feel soooo full! And, there will be less waste!! Flowers are beautiful and there are many ways in which to lower those costs. Moms and dads and even grandparents forgoing the corsage/boutonniere. Groomsmen not having boutonnieres.

Did you know this about the Royal Wedding?!

Even weeks later, various publications continue to sharing their take on trends that may surface in U.S. weddings over the next few years based on the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A couple of sources I looked at in my research included the San Francisco Chronicle, the Insider, and a webinar presented by Carrie Dayton of Carrie Dayton Events which was shared through the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE). Read on to see a composite of what they shared! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle very much wanted their wedding to focus on the “people”. Their guest list didn’t include any heads of state, just friends, family, regular people and people they have met through their charitable work. First Dance Songs!

First dance songs are a personal choice based on what that song means to the couple. It could be an “oldie but a goodie” or something that was just released and strikes a chord with the couple, as they may have just heard it after becoming engaged! What do you think popular first dance songs are? Below is a list of the first dance songs my couples used in 2017 (all of whom were married in Maryland!)! Such a nice variety – all of the couples chose a song special to them! So, no duplicates! Since I didn’t know some of the songs, it was an opportunity for me to listen to the words and see how that song fit the couple!
