Hello friends!
Today we’re talking about a special topic to me. I wanted to recap 2019’s many weddings and talk more about the details of my lovely couples! Like last year’s post, we have so many couples that we love, so this blog post may be a little longer than usual.
In March, Sophia and Sheldon got married at the Christian Life Center. This was my first time there and it was stunning! And, I will be coordinating Sheldon’s sister’s wedding there in a few months!
Following Sophia, Molly and Greg got married at the Cloisters Castle in April. This was also my first time at this venue as well, but luckily I have two additional weddings this year there because it is just absolutely beautiful! Molly & Greg’s family was the wedding party. One of Greg’s brothers officiated and his other brother was the best man. Greg’s nephews and niece were in the small wedding party. During the rehearsal, I realized one of Greg’s nephews is close friends with my daughter. What an additional surprise to find that out!
In May, we celebrated two couples. Sandy & Kevin got married at the American Visionary Arts Museum (AVAM) in Baltimore. This was my first wedding there and Sandy & Kevin’s urban backdrop was just perfect for their personalities. Sandy’s gown was very simple and form-fitting and the bridesmaids also wore white! This modern take on their wedding was so different and unique. The AVAM is a fun, eclectic venue for a wedding. It rained a bit before the ceremony, but then the sun came out and we had a beautiful day!
My second May wedding was for Melanie and Travis who got married at Linganore Winecellars, and had a lovely day which made for lovely pictures with the vineyard in the background!
In July, Lauren and Kyle said “I do” at Springfield Manor which was also my first time there. Clearly there are many beautiful venues that I’m working my way through with my couples!
In September, Shawn and Mike got married at Prosperity Mansion and Erica and Anthony did the same at Gramercy Mansion. This was my first time at each of these venues, and we had so much fun! Rachael and Brady followed with their ceremony at their family farm and a reception at The Tannery Barn. This was a brand new venue and Rachael and Brady got first dibs on having their celebration there! What a fun treat!
October was a busy month with FIVE weddings. First up, we were back again at the Prosperity Mansion with Valerie & Remy. This was a very whimsical Disney-themed wedding! All of the centerpieces were symbolic of the Disney princesses, Sleeping Beauty’s had a big spinning wheel; Beauty & The Beast had the rose under glass and a mirror; Cinderella had the horse-drawn carriage and a glass slipper; and the table numbers were “Chapters” with a few sentences about the story. This was so sweet to see! I love a good theme.
We then celebrated Dana and Nick at Swan Harbor Farm (another first for me!). Dana & Nick’s wedding included a dessert reception. The menu consisted of pan-seared pound cake with assorted fruit toppings, a waffle bar with southern-style chicken and assorted fixings, apple dipping station with assorted toppings, a make-your-own s’mores bar, a fruit display with key lime dip and sugar cones, cheese & crackers, popcorn, and a mini-gourmet desserts bar. YUM!
Continuing in October, Alana & Matt married at Shadow Creek Weddings & Events, making this my sixth venue I’ve crossed off my list for this year. 2019 was a year of firsts much like 2018! Alana and Matt’s wedding was my biggest wedding of the year and was for almost 200 guests. Next, Bethany and Judson got married at The Tea Room at Gambrills Park which ironically happened to be my smallest at 27 guests. Last but not least in October, Jennifer & Justin brought me back to Springfield Manor and it was a gorgeous fall day!
We had one wedding in November for Courtney & Charles. They had a church wedding ceremony followed by their reception at The Bavarian Inn. These were also new venues for me and wrapped up a year of 13 weddings for Events by Lexi. What a year! All of the weddings were lovely (with no big hiccups!) and showcased each couple and their style perfectly. All of my couples are different and it’s so wonderful to see their personalities shine through in the decor, style, and venue choice they each make.
This year I will be back to Linganore Winecellars for my first wedding of 2020, have two weddings at The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek (my first times there), back again to The Cloisters Castle (twice!), Martin’s West, The Chapel at University of Maryland/College Park (with the reception at The Hotel at the University of Maryland), and a ceremony at a Roman Catholic Church near Leesburg, VA, with the reception at Rose Hill Manor located in Virginia. My first wedding at Montagu Meadows will be this fall. And, lastly, I will be traveling to West Virginia, to coordinate a wedding to be held at Boydsville, The Inn at Martinsburg! Stay tuned for all of the details on this year’s weddings, with more to come I’m sure!
